The new week will bring a fundamental change in the general weather situation over Central Europe. The large-scale flow over the Alps will shift from north to southwest to south in the upcoming days. This will bring significantly milder air masses from the western Mediterranean region, and a southerly foehn will increasingly influence the weather. This development will be initiated by a weak warm front on Monday, which will cross us in a weakened form during the day and push the snow line above 1500 meters above sea level. Tuesday will be dry, but extensive cloud fields will accompany the further rise in temperature. A mix of sun and clouds will bring a southerly foehn to the mountains on Wednesday. It will cool down again with a mix of sun and clouds on Thursday and Friday of next week. At the same time, however, it will remain slightly foehn-like.
